Varun Dhawan is considered one of the young stars of Bollywood. He made his Bollywood debut in 2012 with Karan Johar's film 'Student of the Year' and after that he gave a series of hit films like 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', 'Badlapur', 'Judwaa 2', 'Jugjugg Jeeyo', 'Bawaal', and 'Bhediya'.

Why did father David Dhawan not launch Varun?

Recently, Varun Dhawan attended the launch event of his niece Anjini Dhawan's debut film 'Binny and Family'. On this occasion, he revealed that his father David Dhawan did not launch him in Bollywood. Varun said that there is no practice of this tradition in his family and his father did not even believe in it.

Varun said, “My father never launched me because it is not a tradition in our family and he doesn’t believe in it. We have no role in what he did and it would be wrong for me to take credit for Anjini’s success.”

Anjini making a career on her own

Varun said about Anjini that she has made her own way and he is proud of her success. 'Binny and Family' is a family drama film, which depicts the story of three generations. It is directed by Sanjay Tripathi and the film is going to be released in theaters on September 20.

Father David Dhawan did not support him in his career

Varun had also said during the promotion of his debut film that his father David Dhawan did not help him in his career. Varun said that David Dhawan gave him the freedom to become what he wanted and supported him at every step.
