Brinda Master, who is making her directorial debut with the romantic comedy 'Hey Sinamika,' starring Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Kajal Aggarwal, has now revealed why she selected that name for her first film.
Brinda, who considers filmmaker Mani Ratnam to be her mentor, choreographed a song for his film 'OK Kanmani' called 'Aye Sinamika.' Fortunately, according to the filmmaker, the name 'Sinamika' also means 'angry girls,' which fits nicely with the plot of the film. Director Brinda decided without doubt that this would be the title of her film and locked it!
"I choreographed one of Mani sir's songs, 'Aye Sinamika,' in the past, and that too included Dulquer," she adds. When I informed Mani sir that I liked the idea, he laughed and said, 'So, now you're taking the title from one of my films?' It's possible to call it a tribute to him."
The film, which is produced and presented by Jio Studios alongside associate producer Global One Studios, has already received a 'U' certificate from the Censor Board and is set to enter theatres on March 3.
