It is worth noting that on 21 June, the initiative to celebrate Yoga Day was passed with an absolute majority within just 90 days. In the United Nations, no day resolution was passed so soon. On June 21, the sun rises quickly and falls late. It is believed that on this day the Sun's fast remains most effective, and the positive energy of nature remains active. A mythological story has also been told behind celebrating Yoga Day on 21 June. According to the stories, the first spread of yoga was done by Shiva among his seven disciples. It is said that these Sapta Rishis were given initiation of yoga on the first full moon day after the summer solstice, which is also celebrated as the incarnation of Shiva. It is also known as Dakshinayan.
