Hyderabad:  On Saturday, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate a number of development projects for the state that is headed for elections, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will not attend the event. As per protocol, Chief Minister KCR was invited. PM Modi's visit on Saturday at Begumpet airport won't be greeted by KCR either.

The BJP has been at odds with KCR's Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which is attempting to gain political and electoral ground in Telangana. A state assembly election is scheduled for this year. KCR, on the other hand, is trying to expand his party to other states as part of its national ambitions.

KCR changed his party's name from Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) to Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) last year, which was the first step towards the party becoming a nationwide organisation to compete with the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He was also observed making efforts to bring the opposition parties together for a coordinated campaign against the BJP in the general elections of next year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth more than Rs 11,300 crore in Telangana on Saturday as part of a big push for infrastructure and connectivity. At Secunderabad Railway Station, the Prime Minister will signal the departure of the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express.
In addition, PM Modi will officially launch further railway-related development projects and lay the foundation stone for the renovation of Secunderabad Railway Station.

The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Hyderabad's IT City and Lord Venkateswara's home, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to depart from Telangana in as little as three months, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Passengers on pilgrimage will notably benefit from the train's nearly three and a half-hour time reduction between the two cities.

The reconstruction of Secunderabad Railway Station, which would cost Rs 720 crore, is being planned so that it will receive a significant upgrade with top-notch amenities and an iconic station structure with exquisite design. The PMO statement stated that the refurbished station would include, among other things, a double-level expansive roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one location and multimodal connection for facilitating seamless transfers of passengers from train to other modes.
The Prime Minister will officially launch 13 new Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) routes in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad's suburban area during the event, giving commuters a quick, easy, and comfortable means of transportation.

He will also formally launch the Secunderabad-Mahabubnagar project's expansion and electricity. The project, which covered a span of more than 85 kilometres, was finished for just under Rs 1,410 crore. The project would increase the average train speed and offer continuous connectivity.

A public ceremony at Parade Ground in Hyderabad will take place later in the day when the Prime Minister will formally lay the foundation stone of AIIMS Bibinagar. More than Rs 1,350 crore is being spent on the construction of AIIMS Bibinagar. The opening of AIIMS Bibinagar is a significant step in offering Telangana residents complete, high-quality, and holistic tertiary care health services right at their doorstep.

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone for National Highway projects totaling more than Rs 7,850 crore during the event. These road projects would improve the region's socioeconomic growth and the road connectivity between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
