Los Angeles: Meghan Markle, once known for her role as Rachel Zane on Suits, has decided not to return to acting, despite rumors of a Hollywood comeback. The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped away from her acting career in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry, has expressed that the entertainment industry has evolved significantly since her departure.

Following "Megxit," the couple faced speculation about moving back to Los Angeles, with Malibu emerging as a possible new home due to its celebrity allure and closer proximity to the city. Currently residing in a lavish Montecito estate, Harry and Meghan's potential move to Malibu could reduce their lengthy commute to downtown Los Angeles, which can take up to three hours.

Malibu is a favorite spot for many celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Cher, and Charlize Theron.

Meghan Markle's Perspective on the Changing Industry

In a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair, Meghan shared her thoughts on the shifting landscape of entertainment. Reflecting on her time on Suits, she remarked on how the viewing experience has transformed. “I left Suits right after the 100th episode in 2018. I didn’t think I’d ever be in the entertainment industry again,” Meghan said. “But the entire culture has changed; streamers have changed things.”

She noted that in the past, people would gather to watch shows at the same time, creating a shared cultural moment. “When I was doing Suits, that character, Rachel Zane, was in your living room with you while you were in your pajamas eating Chinese takeout. That’s how connected the experience felt then,” Meghan explained.

However, she believes that creating a cultural moment today requires a different approach. Meghan pointed out that podcasting has emerged as a unique platform where people can engage in a more personal way. “Podcasting has been really interesting in that way. It might be one of the only remaining forums where people are alone to listen. Where else do you have that opportunity?” she added.
