Humanitarian Day was celebrated all over the world in the year 2013, while the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) started celebrating this day in the year 2008. Its purpose was to give due respect to those humanitarian workers through this, who have dedicated their entire lives to the service of mankind. This day is dedicated to such servants of humanity, who did not even care for their lives while serving humanity.

The date of August 19 was chosen for this day because on this day in 2003, the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad was bombed. The bombing killed 22 other humanitarian workers, including Sergio Vieira de Mello, the top UN envoy to Iraq. The United Nations (UN) has declared this day as a day to remember the courageous actions of those who have sacrificed their lives while serving humanity. "It is a day to remember humanity and pay tribute to the thousands of humanitarian workers around the world who risked their lives to provide life-saving assistance to those in need amid the crisis and utter despair," said Stephane O'Brien, head of UN humanitarian work.

Let us know that on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day on August 19, a rally is taken out for those who help others by risking their lives. The purpose of this rally is to highlight the poor condition of human workers all over the world and tell the world about their condition.
