LOS ANGELES:Two wildfires, called Pipeline Fire and Haywire Fire, have raged near Flagstaff, a major city in northern Arizona with approximately 70,000 residents.

The Pipeline Fire was estimated to have burned 22,888 acres (92.6 sq km) as of Wednesday midday, according to InciWeb, a natural disaster reporting system, while the smaller Haywire Fire was at 5,065 acres (20.5 sq km), as per reports.

Many people were evacuated in the north of Flagstaff and adjacent settlements as a result of the flames, while others remained ready to depart at any time. Despite the fact that no evacuations have been ordered, the Navajo Nation, the nation's biggest Native American reservation, has seen the most smoke as the wind sweeps northeast.

A fire lookout reported the Pipeline Fire on June 12 morning, 6 miles (9.6 kilometres) north of Flagstaff. The fire then spread quickly, owing in part to the hot and windy weather.

The Pipeline Fire was around 10 miles (16.1 kilometres) away from the Haywire Fire. Crews were looking for ways to engage directly with the fires to put out the edge and keep it from entering communities, Video posted online showed. Aircraft were dropping water and retardant, and crews were looking for ways to engage directly with the fires to put out the edge and keep it from entering communities.

Over 600 firefighters were battling the two fires, which were being battled by eight helicopters and one fixed-wing aircraft.
