Will PM Modi Embark on Extensive Diplomatic Tour in 2024? Key Visits and Meetings

India Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a series of significant international trips during his third term, beginning with a 24-hour visit to Italy for the G7 summit on June 14, where he is an invitee. This trip marks the start of an extensive diplomatic outreach planned for the year.

Following the G7 summit, Modi's schedule includes:

Kazakhstan for the SCO Summit (July 3-4)
Thailand for the BIMSTEC Meeting (September)
Russia for the BRICS Summit (October)
Brazil for the G20 Summit (November)

New York for the UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future (September)
At the G7 summit in Italy, Modi is anticipated to meet with US President Joe Biden and other G7 leaders, including representatives from Japan, the UK, France, and the host nation, Italy.

Later in the year, Modi is expected to travel to Japan for the annual summit and has a planned visit to Africa. A key highlight will be his annual summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia.

One of the most closely watched events will be a potential structured meeting between Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Kazakhstan.

Modi is also scheduled to host several leaders this year, including the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Malaysia. Additionally, he will participate in the India-ASEAN summit and the East Asia summit in Laos, and the India-Germany Intergovernmental Commission in India.

Throughout the year, Modi will engage with numerous leaders at various summits in Europe, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Brazil. India is also set to host leaders from neighboring countries, as well as from Europe, Africa, and Latin America, including Chile.

Moreover, a Quad summit in India is being planned for later this year, further underscoring India's active role in global diplomacy.
