Mumbai: The condition of the country is deteriorating due to the Corona epidemic, while Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the situation of lockdown in Maharashtra is definitely happening but the state government has no plans to impose the lockdown. He said that lockdown is required when necessary resources like oxygen, ventilators, ICU beds, etc. are exhausted. In this case, the chain of infection can be broken by applying a lockdown of 3 weeks. However, there is no such situation in the state and the situation is being brought under control by night curfew and weekend lockdown.

On the question of the lack of vaccines in Maharashtra, he said that the pace of vaccination in the state is the fastest in the whole country. Due to this, 1 crore 60 lakh vaccine is required every month whereas only 1 crore 04 lakh vaccine has been given so far. There are 120 centers in the state out of which 70 are closed as the vaccine has been closed. The number of vaccination centers has also been increased. Despite all the facilities, they are not able to give vaccines to the public.

Most of the vaccine has been given by the Central Government to Maharashtra, its major complaints are coming from Maharashtra itself. In response to this question, he said that Maharashtra cannot be compared with Gujarat or Rajasthan. Maharashtra should not be compared to small states in terms of population or area as it is the largest caseload. When 60% of the total corona cases of India are from the same state, then vaccines should also be given in the same proportion.
