New Delhi: Cold wave outbreak in Delhi-NCR is not taking its name. This time, Coldhar has broken the record of 22 years and there is no possibility of getting relief for a few days. It is not expected to come down on Thursday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius this morning. On Wednesday, the maximum average temperature was recorded at 12.7 degrees Celsius, nine degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was 6.2 degrees, two degrees below normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, this time the cold wave started in Delhi from December 14, since then its havoc has continued. Earlier in December 1997, such a long cold wave was seen. Then during the whole month, there were 17 days of cold wave. However, these were not continuous, while this time the cold wave which is accumulating for nine consecutive days is going on.

According to Kuldeep Srivastava, in-charge of Regional Meteorological Center, Delhi, the temperature will remain the same till December 29. The minimum temperature can reach 4 degrees. There will be some change in the weather on 30 December. Drizzle is likely on January 2 and 3.
