US-based tech giant Apple on Saturday said that its supplier Wistron plant violated 'labour laws' and failed to implement work hour management.  The workers of the plant have alleged irregular work hours, underpayment of wages, and poor working conditions at the assembling and manufacturing unit.

In a statement, Apple said that the Apple employees and independent auditors hired by Apple have been working around the clock to investigate the issues which occurred at Wistron’s Narasapura facility.  The company further said, "While these investigations are ongoing, our preliminary findings indicate violations of our Supplier Code of Conduct by failing to implement proper working hour management processes. This led to payment delays for some workers in October and November. Apple has placed Wistron on probation and they will not receive any new business from Apple before they complete corrective actions. 

The employees vandalised the iPhone maker's assembling facility in Kolar district over a dispute pertaining to wages. They had claimed that they were not paid the amount that was promised to them. The number of workers at the Taiwan-based company was increased to more than 9,000 in November
