Bhopal: MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has broken Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh's record. Shivraj has now got the longest term among the BJP chief ministers. Among the current chief ministers, Shivraj is the fourth longest-serving chief minister in India.

Let us tell you that Raman Singh was the CM of Chhattisgarh for 15 years and 10 days. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has overtaken him on March 17. He completed 15 years and 11 days. PM Modi has also been the Chief Minister for 13 years. Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also the only leader to become CM four times. Among the current chief ministers, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's name comes 4th in being the longest-serving chief minister in India. Naveen Patnaik from Odisha, Nitish Kumar from Bihar, N. Rio of Nagaland come before him.

The same BJP made Shivraj Singh Chouhan the state president in 2005. Meanwhile, on November 29, 2005, he became the CM of MP for the first time. Earlier, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was a five-time MP. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was elected MP for the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 when Atal Bihari Vajpayee left the Vidisha seat for the first time. In 1996, he was re-elected to the 11 Lok Sabha. He was elected for the third time for the 12th Lok Sabha in 1998, the fourth time for the 13th Lok Sabha in 1999 and the 5th time from Vidisha for the 15th Lok Sabha. Before Shivraj, Arjun Singh and Shyamacharan Shukla have been CMs 3-3 times each.
