NEW DELHI: : A 22-year-old woman, working at a spa in New Delhi, was allegedly sedated and gang raped by two men, an official said on Saturday. Four persons have also been arrested in connection with the incident.
The arrested culprits were identified as Rahul, a manager at the spa; Satish Kumar, a customer; and owners of the spa Brij Gopal and Sandeep, the official added.
Usha Rangnani, the deputy commissioner of police for the northwest, provided information, stating that the police were dep0loyed right away to the scene after receiving a PCR call about a woman being sexually assaulted at a spa in Pitampura.
The victim and her husband were present at the scene and complained about the manager and another person sexually assaulting her, according to DCP Rangnani.
The woman complained that after joining the "Ocean Spa Centre" on July 30, someone showed up at 6 p.m. on August 4 and sought a sexual favour. "She was offered a cold beverage by the alleged manager. She drank it, got lightheaded, and they both raped her "explained the top official.
The victim was taken to the hospital for a medical test after the police were informed of the event, and a counsellor from the Delhi Commission for Women was contacted.
In response, the police promptly detained Rahul and Satish Kumar and filed a FIR under sections 354A (Sexual harassment and penalty for sexual harassment), 328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), and 376 D (gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
