HYDERABAD: A woman who attempted to pass the physical measuring test to join the Telangana police force as a constable by glueing a piece of M-Seal wax inside her hair was detected.

The event took place on Wednesday in Mahabubnagar during the ongoing physical measurement exam and physical endurance test for police constables and sub-inspectors.

The woman pasted a piece of M-Seal wax within her hair in an effort to get the police post. She stood on the height measurement gadget, the official said, exposing the fraud. The officials observed that her height and weight were not displayed on the gadget.

The candidate had M-Seal wax placed under her hair, which a female staff member detected when she checked her. Officials said that sensors respond and indicate the height and weight only when there is a perfect touch on the head and under the feet.

The case was brought to the attention of Mahabubnagar Superintendent of Police R. Venkateshwarlu, who disqualified the applicant for the position.

The SP said they were using electronic devices in physical endurance test for accuracy to ensure that only genuine candidates get selected.

The number of applicants for the positions of police constables and sub-inspectors is over 2.37 lakh. The Police Recruitment Board is conducting physical measurement & endurance tests at a dozen centres across the state.
