Panaji: Have you ever wondered what would happen if a mother's one-month-old baby was stolen and that too from the hospital? Well, we all know that it is a very serious matter and it has happened recently. Yes, in fact, such a case has come to light from Goa. Where a one month old child was kidnapped from Goa Medical College and Hospital. The baby was traced within 24 hours due to police vigilance and close watch. Police reportedly recovered the infant from the house of a woman in Saly village of rural North Goa and the abductor has also been arrested.
The woman has been identified as Vishranti Gavas. According to reports, the child is safe. In the entire case, North Goa Superintendent of Police Shobit Saxena said, "Within 24 hours, teams reached Salay village and a suspected newborn was identified as per details. The suspicion was confirmed when the mother also identified the child. The newborn was then rescued and the suspected woman identified as Vishranti Gavas was nabbed.''
The child was reportedly kidnapped when mother Lalita Naik handed over the child to another woman and went to buy samosas from the coffee shop in the hospital premises. Both the woman and the child were missing as soon as she returned. In this case Naik said she did not know the woman. After all this, the woman left the hospital premises, and hired a motorcycle taxi. Her feat was captured on CCTV cameras and with the help of this she was caught.
