New Delhi: India's veteran women's wrestler and six-time world champion  Mary Kom has made a quarter-final appearance in the World Women's Boxing Championships. Mary Kom beat Jutamus Jitpong of Thailand 5–0 in the 51kg section. Mary Kom got a bye in the first round. In the final 16, he did not give a single chance for the Thai player to dominate himself while showing a brilliant game. With this, she has also reached her eighth medal in the World Championship.

Third-seeded Maricomau took three minutes to understand his opposition player. Mary Kom is in search of her first medal in the World Championship in the 51 kg weight category. Earlier, India's star boxers became world champions in the 48 kg weight category, but this time in the 48 kg weight category Manju Rani is presenting the challenge.

In 51kg, Mary Kom has won the bronze medal in London Olympics. Manju Rani, who is competing in Mary Kom's weight, has made her World Championship debut and is just one step away from the medal in her debut season. Manju defeated Venezuela's Rojas Teyonis Cedeno 5–0 to advance to the quarter-finals.
