New Delhi: Defending world champion England has appointed a new coach for the team. The England Cricket Board announced that bowling coach Chris Silverwood will take over as the head coach of the team. England Cricket Board managing director Ashley Gillies, after 44-year-old Chris Silverwood was elected head coach, has said, "We are delighted to have Chris appointed as head coach of the England Men's team. For the first time in the history of cricket, England has been named as the world coach".Trevor Bellis, the winner, left the team and resigned from the post after the World Cup.

Trevor Bellis had already made up his mind to leave the England team. He also announced it after the World Cup win, but at the behest of the board, he remained in the post of head coach until the Ashes series.
