New Delhi: Sweety Boora (75 kg) has sealed her place in the pre quarter-finals by performing brilliantly in the ongoing World Women's Boxing Championships in Russia. Bura defeated Mongolia's Myangmarjargal Munkhbat 5-0 in the first round. She will now face second-seeded Lauren Price of Wales. At the same time, Neeraj Phogat (57 kg) had to see the way out of this championship.
Phogat tried his best against Kiyo Ziru of China but it was not enough for the judges and they lost 2-3 in the split decision. Bura's win was easy in which he proved himself to be a better boxer with precise punches. The Mongolian boxer made a comeback attempt in the final three minutes but by then it was too late.
Earlier, Phogat also performed well and looked better boxer. His opponent was technically weak and he was also warned but the judges gave a surprising decision. This made the Indian player look disappointed. Phogat was participating in the World Championship for the first time.
