Mumbai: On the occasion of International Women's Day, women personnel of Mumbai Police will get eight-hour shift from today i.e. Tuesday. Let us tell you that Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey has issued an order in this regard. Yes and officials said on Monday that the instructions issued with the aim of helping women workers to maintain a better balance between home and work will remain in force in Mumbai till further orders.

Let us tell you that it was Pandey who started the eight-hour duty initiative in January this year as the acting DGP of the state. Along with this, an officer also told that, "As per the order of the CP, there are two options for women personnel. In the first option, they will have to work in three shifts, which is from 8 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 10 pm and 10 pm to 8 am. In the second option, the shift timings are from 7 am to 3 pm, 3 pm to 11 pm and 11 pm to 7 am.

Apart from this, the order also said that senior police inspectors should discuss the timing of duty with the women personnel and assign them duty according to both the options. Simultaneously, the order states that in case of any issue arising out of the implementation of the initiative, the police officers may approach the DCP (Operations).
