Every year on March 8, people worldwide commemorate International Women's Day. It's also a day to honour women who have had a significant impact on our lives as mothers, wives, sisters, or friends. International Women's Day was first recognised by the UN in 1977. Doodle is honouring the myriad ways that women support one another on this International Women's Day.

It illustrates a handful of the various ways that women support one another globally to advance and raise each other's quality of life. In the animated doodle, women are seen stargazing, a doctor and her patient, two mothers feeding their children, a woman politician speaking on a platform, and women during a protest demonstration.

"Influential women who support advancement on matters that are essential to the lives of all women. women who gather to research, educate themselves, and advocate for their rights. women who serve as people's primary carers in all spheres of society. Women who are each other's mothers' greatest advocates, "I wrote, Goodle Doodle.

Doodle Artist Alyssa Winans created the artwork for the Google Doodle for International Women's Day in 2023.

Speaking on this year's theme, she said, "I was able to spend a lot of time focusing on all the ways I've been supported by the other women in my life because it was 'women supporting women' this year. As the youngest of three girls, I have always benefited from the knowledge and assistance of my elders. I'm appreciative of that and the many instances in which women in my life defend one another and their principles.

DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality is this year's UN theme. It emphasises how important technology is to promoting rights, but that a widening gender disparity in the digital sphere is having an influence on everything from women's employment prospects to online safety. The United Nations reports that 259 million fewer women than males have access to the internet, and that women are significantly underrepresented in occupations in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. According to the U.N. website, involving women in technology leads to more innovative solutions and has a larger potential for breakthroughs that cater to women's needs and advance gender equality. "Their lack of inclusion, by contrast, comes with tremendous costs." Prior United Nations themes have included HIV/AIDS, rural women, and climate change.
