Defending champions United States defeated Thailand by 13-0 in a ruthless display of their powerful game here on Tuesday and thus made a superb start to their campaign in the FIFA Women's World Cup soccer tournament. The 3-time world champion, the United States, scored ten goals in the second half of the match played in the reams. It is also the best ever win in the history of the tournament.

As per the information received from sources, the US broke Germany's winning record of 11-0 on Argentina in 2007. Earlier, the United States ' own record was 7-0.
