No night curfew imposed in West Bengal on New Year's Eve

Kolkata: Coronavirus outbreak does not seem to stop all over the country. Meanwhile, the new Corona strains found in the United Kingdom have raised the concern of the Indian government. In view of the new strain of Corona, many state governments of the country have announced to impose Night Curfew on the celebration of New Year.

Meanwhile, the news is being received that there will be no night curfew in West Bengal on New Year's Eve as the situation in the state is not adverse. West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay has said that the state government, however, will take every precautionary measure to prevent people from gathering on the occasion.

Bandopadhyay further said that at present, the situation in the state is not such that the night curfew is enforced. He said on Wednesday, 'In some places in West Bengal, New Year celebrations are being organized. If people follow the coronavirus guidelines and safety regulations and cooperate with the police and administration, then the crowd can be avoided. ' To prevent the spread of corona infection, the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed states and union territories to impose local restrictions like night curfews if required.
