The proposed World Athletics Championships in 2021 will now be held in 2022, instead of 2021, due to the COVID-19 epidemic postponing a year of the Tokyo Olympics. After the announcement of the new date of the Tokyo Olympics, the World Athletics said that the proposed championship will be held in the US from 6 to 15 August 2021 in 2022.
