Doha: The ongoing World Athletics Championships in Doha has brought bad news for India. India's star runner Dutee Chand's performance at the World Athletics Championships was poor. Dutee came out of the competition on Saturday, taking 11.48 seconds, the worst time of the season in the women's 100 meter race. Dutee finished seventh out of 8 in heat number three and 37th among 47 contestants and was thus eliminated from the championship.

India vs West Indies: One day match in Cuttack may shift to other ground

Olympic 2012 champion Jamaica-style Ann Fraser Preuss took 10.80 seconds and last-time silver medalist Marie Iv Taue of Ivory Coast took 10.85 seconds. This shows how far behind the world's best players are Indians. Defending Olympic champion Ellen Thompson (11.14 seconds) finished first in Duti's heat. The final qualifier to make it to the semi-finals was 11.31 seconds and Dutee could have achieved it but she was far behind it. Meanwhile, India's MP Jabir was eliminated from the semi-finals in the 400-meter hurdle. He finished fifth in the third heat of the semi-finals with 49.71 seconds.
