New Delhi: India's 4x400m mixed relay team has won a bronze medal at the Under-20 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi. This is India's fifth medal in the history of the Under-20 World Athletics Championships. Team India included Bharat S, Priya Mohan, Sammi, and Kapil. The Indian team finished third in the final of the championship at 3:20.60.
Nigeria won the gold medal from 3:19.70 and Poland won the silver medal from 3:19.80. India entered the final as the second-best overall team in the morning championship heat at a record time of 3:23.36. However, the record did not remain in India's name for long and Nigeria demolished it in the second heat with a timing of 3:21.66.
Thus, Seema Antil (Bronze in Wheel Throw, 2002), Navjit Kaur Dhillon (Bronze in Wheel Throw, 2014), Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra (Gold in Javelin Throw, 2016), Hima Das (Gold in 400m, 2018) have won medals in the Under-20 World Championships before the bronze medal of the 4x400m mixed relay team.
