WHO's tweet on Baba Ramdev's Coronil, says 'We have not approved any traditional medicine ..'

New Delhi: The World Health Organization (WHO) on corona, a corona drug launched by Baba Ramdev, says it has not approved any traditional corona medicines. The WHO statement came after Baba Ramdev claimed to have received the WHO's approval of the corona drug Coronil.

Without naming Patanjali or coronil medicine, the South East Asian Unit of WHO tweeted that, 'World Health Organization has not approved the effect of any traditional medicine in the treatment of corona.' This statement of the global body has come at a time when Baba Ramdev while launching the new drug corona, claimed that according to the instructions of the WHO, the Government of India has approved it. Baba Ramdev had said, 'After the introduction of Scientific Research Evidence, the Central Government has given this medicine a green signal.'

Ramdev further said that it has been approved on the basis of international standards. Now we can sell this medicine in more than 150 countries of the world.' Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari were present on the occasion of the launch of a new drug of coronil. Baba Ramdev had said that people who are not getting other medicines for the treatment of corona can use coronil. Haridwar-based Baba Ramdev's company said that this drug has got the green signal from the Ministry of AYUSH under the WHO certification scheme.
