World heritage site Kaziranga National Park is all set to welcome President Murmu

Guwahati:  President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu embark on a three-day visit to Assam on April 6. The President will inaugurate the 2-day ‘Hasti Mahotsov’ or ‘Gaj Festival’ at the park tomorrow,  April 7 morning before leaving for Guwahati.

he Central government and the State Government jointly organise the annual elephant festival to conserve the Asiatic elephant and find ways to resolve increasing human-elephant conflict. The annual elephant festival attracts a number of Indian and foreign tourists to the Kaziranga national park.

President Murmu will land at the Jorhat airport in the afternoon, and from there, her Excellency will go to the Kaziranga National Park, they said.

At the Bagori Range, the park's western range, President Droupadi Murmu will pay a visit. She will go on a jeep safari before attending a cultural event in the Kohora Range's centre range that evening. The State Government has made suitable preparations for President Droupadi Murmu's visit. It should be noted that former president Ram Nath Kovind and his family spent two nights in the Kaziranga National Park there to take in the wildlife.

In addition, President Droupadi Murmu will attend the Gauhati High Court's platinum jubilee festivities and flag off the Mt. Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati on April 7. The President will leave for Tezpur on April 8. At the Air Force station in Tezpur, she will take a sortie of the Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft before leaving for Delhi from Tezpur airport.
