New Delhi: The name of India was on the last day of the World Wrestling Championship. On the last day of the tournament, Rahul Aware had complete control of his match and managed to win the biggest medal of his career. Avare received a bronze medal in the 61kg non-Olympic category. India finished the tournament with one silver and four bronze medals. Rahul Aware faced the American Taylor Le Graf who defeated him 11-4 in the bronze medal match.
Avare defeated 2017 Pan American champion Tyler Lee Graf 11–4 in the 61kg bronze medal match to take India to five in the medals. For India, Deepak Punia won silver, Bajrang Punia, Rahul Aware, Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Vinesh Phogat won bronze medals in the women's section. India's previous best performance at the World Championships was in 2013 when it won three medals.
Then Amit Dahiya won silver, Bajrang Punia won bronze and Sandeep Tulsi Yadav won bronze in Greco Roman. Avare had complete control in his match and was successful in winning the biggest medal of his career. The Pahlawan from Maharashtra won the Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games Games 2018 and the Bronze Medal at the Asian Championships (2009 and 2011).
