Today is Army Day and today the national flag 'Tiranga' made of Khadi will be hoisted on the Indo-Pakistan border at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Yes, let me tell you that this tricolour will be displayed in Longewala, which was the main centre of the historic war between India and Pakistan in 1971. The tricolour is 225 feet long and 150 feet wide. Similarly, if we talk about its weight, it weighs 1400 kg. As per the information received, it had taken 49 days for 70 khadi artisans to prepare the flag. Let me tell you all that the construction of the Monuments National Flag has given an additional 3500 hours of work for khadi artisans and labourers.
On the other hand, 4500 metres of hand-chopped and hand-woven khadi cotton flag plates have been used to make this flag, covering a total area of 33,750 square feet. The diameter of the Ashoka chakra in this flag is about 30 feet. Tell all of you that the Tricolour was unveiled in Leh on 2nd October 2021. This is followed by the 5th flag made by Khadi for public display. The second tricolour was then displayed at Hindon Airbase on the occasion of Air Force Day on 8 October 2021 followed by the Red Fort on October 21, 2021.
