Xiaomi's sub-brand Black Shark launched its next-generation of a gaming smartphone, dubbed as Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone in China last month. Now the device seems to launch in India soon. There has been no word from Black Shark yet about the India launch date. Black Shark had confirmed earlier that they will be setting up operations in Bengaluru but they did not say anything about the launch in India.

Xiaomi Black shark 2 has now been certified by India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), which suggests it may soon be launched in the country. BIS certification is a means for providing a third-party guarantee of quality, safety, and reliability of products to the customer.

In China, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is priced at 3199 yuan (approx. Rs 32,800) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at 3499 yuan (approx. Rs 35,800). The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at 3799 yuan (approx. Rs 38,850), while the top-end model is priced at 4199 Yuan (approx. Rs 43,000), which comes with a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone will be available in Shadow Black, Frozen Silver, and Mirage Blue color options.

Black Shark 2 comes with a list of new technologies. There is the Liquid Cool 3.0 for enhanced heat dissipation, TrueView Display to deliver uplifted imaging, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite Gaming to take your gaming experience to the next level. The smartphone also comes with a Magic Press pressure-sensing technology that works similar to Apple's 3D touch and enables customization of pressure sensitivity on the display to offer enhanced control.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Black Shark 2 features a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED display along with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 403ppi of pixel density. The display panel has 108.9-percent DCI P3 color gamut and a contrast ratio of 60,000:1. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with Adreno 640 GPU and up to 12GB of RAM.

The phone is juiced up by a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support and runs on Android 9.0 Pie. The phone measures 163.6 x 75.01 x 8.77mm and weighs 205 grams. On the connectivity front, it supports dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, dual-SIM, GPS, GLONASS, and USB Type-C port.
