New Delhi: Xiaomi held an important event in India to celebrate the global release of the Redmi Note 12 series. The Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ that will be sold in India are the same devices that can be found in China, which is a welcome change of pace.

"Redmi Note 12 Series 5G" was the product being launched, which suggests that Xiaomi may soon add an LTE-only member to the Redmi Note 12 family.

The 6.67" AMOLED display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset are standard on the Redmi Note 12. There are two cameras on the back, but only the 48MP main shooter with PDAF can be used for taking pictures.

Priced at INR15,499 ($187/€175) for the 4/128GB version or INR17,499 ($210/€200) for the 6/128GB, the phone is available in green or black . The phone will be available for sale on January 11 via Mi.com, Amazon and physical stores.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is actually slightly smaller than its vanilla sibling despite having the same general design. It has a 50MP camera and Dimensity 1080 chipset, and its 5,000mAh battery can withstand 67W charging.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro has three color options: Black, Blue, and Pink. The base 6/128GB version costs INR24,999 ($300/€285), the mid-tier 8/128GB model costs INR26,999 ($325/€307) and the top-tier 8/256GB model costs INR27,999 ( $340/€320). Early buyers can get one from Xiaomi stores, Flipkart and partner retailers starting January 11 with discounts of up to Rs 3,000 ($37/€35).

The top model of the series is the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. It shares the same dimensions, OLED display, and 5,000 mAh battery as its non-Plus sibling, but is the first smartphone in India to feature Samsung's ISOCELL HPX sensor for its 200MP camera. An adapter is included in the retail box, and charging is also very fast at 120W.

Available colors are black, white and blue. The phone will be offered on January 11 on Mi.com, Flipkart, and a few other third-party retailers, just like its Pro sibling.

Unfortunately, the Redmi Note 12 Discovery, which features 210W charging and a smaller 4,300mAh battery, will not be available outside China. We haven't even found out whether the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed will be hitting the home market or not, or under what name.
