Ladakh: Union Minister for  Youth Services, Sports, Information and Broadcasting Shri Anurag Singh Thakur today, April 29, said the successful conclusion of the Y20 pre-summit meeting is a befitting reply to those who tried to spread fear and confusion before the event.

"Some people must have felt agony when I said Y20 Pre-Summit was successful. Those who attempted to spread fear and confusion before Y20 Pre-Summit in Ladakh and  tried to make statements, I would like to mention to them that Y20 Pre-Summit was also held in Ladakh and was a very successful event."

The Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs hosted the Y 20 Pre Summit Meeting as part of the G20, which ended on April 28. On April 26, a three-day event with more than 100 delegates got underway.

India took over the G20 Presidency on December 1, 2022, for a year, or until November 30, 2023. The 'Vasudeva kutumbakam' system of civilizational values serves as the foundation for India's theme for its presidency. Thus, "One Earth, One Family, One Future" serves as our theme.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of the Government of India's Department of Youth Affairs will host the Youth 20 Summit in 2023 as part of their G20 Presidency. One of the G20's recognised engagement groups is called Youth20. The Youth20 (Y20) Engagement Group is holding meetings around India to solicit suggestions from the youth of the country for a better tomorrow and to develop an action plan. Young people will have a platform through Y20 to share their opinions and thoughts on G20 priorities.

The Y20 Pre-Summit will help young people develop by offering opportunites for cooperation and networking with other stakeholders.

The Minister urged young people everywhere to "shape the national as well as international discourse" and to take the initiative in resolving the problems their regions are experiencing. India will ultimately guarantee the greatest young participation at Y20. In Jan Bhagidari, which is the youth participation at the G20 India, I am sure that the Y20 secretariat and the team will break a record.

In order to usher in a new era of no war, Thakur said it was encouraging to observe that some of the surrendered militants had also participated in panel talks on peacebuilding and reconciliation in the run-up to the Pre-Summit here, shedding light on the success of the Y20 initiatives.
