MYSORE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on the International Yoga Day, June 21, that yoga provides harmony and its brings peace to groups as well as individuals. PM Modi chaired the major event of the International Day of Yoga in the backdrop of the iconic Mysuru Palace on June 21.
Thousands of people participated, and joined the Prime Minister in the mass Yoga demonstration.
"Everything in the universe begins with our own body and soul. Modi stated, "The universe begins with us." "Yoga also makes us aware of all that is going on inside of us and develops a sense of awareness." "Yoga provides us with a sense of calm. Yoga brings peace to groups as well as individuals. Yoga is a source of peace in our culture. Yoga promotes peace in our countries and the rest of the globe. Yoga also brings harmony to our universe ", added the Prime Minister.
Those in attendance were Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Mysuru royal scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and "Rajmata" Pramoda Devi.
Every year on June 21st, the International Day of Yoga has been observed around the world since 2015. "Yoga for Humanity" is the topic for this year's Yoga Day.
