Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi's campaign against drug traders in Uttar Pradesh is seeing a big impact. Large-scale raids and arrests are being conducted in different districts. The campaign, which started last week, has also been a big success. In 5 days, i.e. from August 24 to 29, 4060 people involved in the drug trade have been arrested. During this period, liquor worth more than two crores 27 lakh has been seized. Gangster action has been taken against 54 people involved in the illegal liquor business.
According to ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, drugs and liquor are brought from Nepal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan borders in Uttar Pradesh. Between August 24 and August 29, 675 peddlers were arrested and drugs worth Rs 8.96 crore were seized. 606 cases were registered. Of these, 19 have been booked under the Gangster Act. Assets worth Rs 14.79 crore were seized under the Gangster Act.
CM Yogi has adopted a strict attitude towards drug dealers. In the meeting held with the officials, CM Yogi ordered direct action against them. Calling for a big campaign against the drug mafia of Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Adityanath said that the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police should start the work of raiding the drug mafia. Accountability will be fixed for negligence in this case. Illegal traders should be identified in each police station area.
