The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has given another big relief to the farmers. Good news has come to the farmers amidst the ongoing lockdown in the country. Farmers will be given 50% subsidy on seed purchase for sowing of Kharif crops. Farmers will get this help directly through DBT in bank accounts. For this, an amount of Rs 24.46 crore has been approved.

Regarding this matter, Agriculture Minister Suryapratap Shahi said that farmers will not be allowed to face any problem for sowing of Zayed and Kharif during the Corona crisis. Under the National Food Security Mission, farmers will be provided seeds at 50% subsidy for sowing of paddy and oilseeds etc. The grant amount will be made available directly to the farmers in bank accounts. For this, an amount of Rs 24 crore 46 lakh 44 thousand has been sanctioned.

Agriculture Minister Suryapratap Shahi said that there is no problem in the availability of seeds, pesticides, chemicals and fertilizers for the farmers, so shops have been allowed to open during lockdown. Instructions have been given to all the District Magistrates and Police Officers that farmers visiting Mandi and purchasing centers should not be stopped from commuting. Action will be taken against those who put unnecessary interruptions in potato storage. He told that for the convenience of farmers of wheat harvesting, there will be no obstruction to move the combine harvester and other machines from here to there. 12 crore has also been sanctioned for state agricultural farms.
