Yogi government's big announcement for women, 20% posts of UP Home Guards to be 'women recruited'

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to give job opportunities to women in UP Home Guards. According to the information, 20 per cent of the vacant posts of home guards will be appointed by women. For this, the Home Guards Department is preparing a proposal. The officials of the department have been asked to send a proposal to the government for the recruitment process within 100 days.

It is being told that these recruitments in the Home Guard Department, which has been instrumental in maintaining peace and security in the state and contributing significantly to internal security, will reduce crimes against women. There will also be an atmosphere of security in the state. The government has also issued guidelines for filling up the vacant posts of home guards step-wise.  

According to media reports, the Government of India has currently sanctioned 1,18,348 Home Guard volunteers for the Uttar Pradesh Home Guards Organisation. A total of 1151 companies, including 785 rural, and 366 urban companies, have been set up, including 25 women and 60 independent women platoons.
