Yogi government's big decision- canceled all 5 year old traffic challans

Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has provided major relief to owners who have not paid vehicle challans for a long time in the state. The Yogi government has canceled all invoices, giving relief to private and commercial vehicle owners. With this decision of the Yogi government, lakhs of vehicle owners in the state have heaved a sigh of relief, who were fined for violating traffic rules in the past years, but the owners did not pay the fines.

According to the decision of the Yogi government, the challans deducted for violation of traffic rules from 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2021 have been canceled. This cancellation order of the government will also apply to cases pending in the courts related to invoices. The Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) order said that after getting a list of all the cases pending in the courts regarding the challan, these invoices will be deleted from the corporation's portal. Uttar Pradesh Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh has directed all divisional transport officers to remove invoices from the departmental portal. Instructions have been sent to all transport offices of the state on behalf of the state government.

In the instructions sent to the transport offices, it has been said that the list of pending invoices in the courts should be obtained and deleted from the e-portal of the Transport Department. According to the order issued by the government, invoices deducted from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021, are being deleted from the e-portal. Uttar Pradesh Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh has informed that the old pending invoices should be canceled under the arrangement made through the Uttar Pradesh Ordinance No. 2 June 2023. Farmers were staging a sit-in in Noida to demand cancellation of old invoices pending in courts.
