Lucknow: The words 'government' and 'contract' will no longer be seen from the board of liquor, beer and cannabis shops in Uttar Pradesh. These words have been removed from the board. On Wednesday, the government issued the order and took this action. The officials of the Excise Department have given information that this action has been taken in order to comply with the order from above.

The signboard of any liquor shop will be written on the country liquor or English liquor shop, beer shop etc. Licenses of liquor, beer and cannabis shops are issued by the state government itself, so till now the words of government license liquor/beer shop, government hemp contract etc. were written on these shops. But the state government is not getting the word now, so orders have been given to remove them. If anyone sells country liquor or government liquor, or government liquor contract at its liquor shop, action will be taken against him.

It is being told that as per the new policy issued by the UP government, licenses of retail shops and model shops of beer and cannabis will be renewed in addition to native and English liquor. The license fee of the model shop along with the retail outlets of domestic and English liquor has been increased by only 7.5%.
