Lucknow: The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh will provide free vegetable seeds to 20 lakh farmers of the state to encourage vegetable cultivation. The move is on the behalf of the State Government is being taken towards doubling the income of the farmers. These things are somewhere by the state Agriculture, Agriculture Education and Research Minister Surya Pratap Shahi.

He was leading the technical session of the National Webinar organized under the joint aegis of the Planning Department and Gorakhpur University at Gorakhpur University campus on Friday. He said that agriculture or vegetable-fruit cultivation can prove to be very effective to double the income of farmers in Purvanchal. There is a lot of potential in the field of farming in Purvanchal. While cereals are ready in 6 months, vegetables are sold in the market in 2 to 3 months.

He further said that the need is to inform the farmers about the technology so that they can earn more and more income from horticulture. The reason for the backwardness of the farmers is that they do not have the timely technical know-how. Diversification in the agriculture sector is the demand for the multi-cropping moment. Agriculture can play an important role in this.
