Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government has taken a major decision and announced the setting up of an anti-terrorism squad (ATS) centre in Deoband. CM Yogi Adityanath's information advisor Shalabh Mani Tripathi tweeted, "Listen to up news amidst Taliban brutality. Yogi Ji has decided to open an ATS commando centre at Deoband with immediate effect.''

He informed that work has also started on a war footing and about 1.5 dozen fast-paced ATS officers elected from all over the state will be deployed here. Tell you that Darul Uloom is established in Deoband itself from where the Islamic Deobandi campaign started. The Taliban, a terror group that is wreaking havoc in Afghanistan, is also said to be inspired by the same ideology. Deoband has also been notorious for terror. The district administration has already allotted 2,000 square metres of land to the ATS.

The exercise to open commando training centres of ATS in Lucknow and Noida is underway before Deoband. It has been decided to set up these centres near Amausi in Lucknow and International Airport in Noida. The land has also been fixed at both places. Two Deoband terrorists were arrested in February 2019. ISI agents were also caught from here. Several terrorists have also been arrested from Saharanpur not far from here.
