Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar, who is lagging behind in the race for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka, has openly expressed his heartache for the first time. Addressing the people at an event on Saturday (June 3), he said that you people voted only to make me CM. But what to do, a decision was made and I had to accept that decision. This is the first time that DK Shivakumar has spoken openly and expressed his pain over not becoming CM after the formation of the new government. Shivakumar also said that the agreement was signed on the advice of the Gandhi family and the party's national president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said, "You people voted for me in large numbers. You wanted me to be CM, but what can you do? A decision was taken. Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge gave me some instructions. I had to bow down to what they said. Now I have to be patient and wait." DK Shivakumar said this on his first visit to his constituency after becoming deputy chief minister. During this, he also appeared emotional, but also cooled the speculation by saying that he would accept the decision of the party high command.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivakumar also assured his supporters that one day their hopes will be fulfilled and he will become the CM. DK Shivakumar further said that like me, all of you will have to wait with patience. In the Karnataka assembly election results held in May, the Congress had won 135 seats in the 224-member Assembly. After this, there was a long political battle between DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah to become the Chief Minister. However, the high command asked DK Shivakumar to wait, citing his young age. At the same time, Siddaramaiah has got the post of CM. Siddaramaiah also said that this will be his last term.
