USA: Want to keep track of crucial conversations sent in disappearing message mode? You might soon be able to do that with WhatsApp.

According to reports, the Meta-owned app is working on a feature that would let users save messages sent in the disappearing messages section.

he choice is currently only available to iOS users on the beta channel, though. You can use this method to access the new choice.

At the moment, WhatsApp offers three timers for messages that vanish: 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. The app automatically deletes the messages when the limit is reached. You can store messages you don't want to lose using the new feature.

You must long press on the relevant text bubble in order to remember a message. The option "keep" will then appear.

The "Kept messages" section is where you can find the saved messages.
You have the option to "unkeep" the message that is about to vanish if you don't want to keep it.

Once you choose it, the specific message will disappear after the predetermined amount of time. However, keep in mind that once you choose "unkeep," you won't be able to choose "keep" once more.

iOS beta update 23.7.0.72 includes the new option. Users of the Android beta can also access a comparable feature through the 2.23.8.3 update.

The bookmark icon must be clicked by users to stop messages from disappearing. More testers will be able to access it in the upcoming weeks as it is currently being rolled out on the beta channel.

New disappearing message durations that WhatsApp is creating will be listed under "More Durations" in the disappearing messages tab. 15 durations, including 1 year, 180 days, 60 days, 30 days, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 2 days, and even 1 hour, will be available in the new update.

Lock Chat is another feature that WhatsApp is developing. You can keep your chats and media private using the new option. A conversation cannot be accessed without your fingerprint or passcode once it has been added to the list of locked chats. This option, though, is still being worked on and may be made available in a later update.
