ICICI Lombard General Insurance is introducing the Face Scan Diagnostic feature available to all its app users. Through which you can also check blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate, respiration rate and stress level in minutes. The company claims that the accuracy of the readings of the Scan Diagnostic feature is 92-95 percent. The company has clarified that the data obtained from this feature cannot be used for treatment or legal actions.
The app is also working on photoplethysmography (PPG) technology. The same technology is being used in pulse oximeters. It can also map the changes in the blood due to light absorption. ICICI Lombard ED Sanjeev Mantri told the media that the face scan feature is a powerful innovation of health checkup, which is providing a great experience to the people. This feature is separate from the scope of the transaction relationship. Not only this, there are many such apps for Android devices in the Google Play Store, which are being offered face scan diagnostic feature to the users.
Some Android devices have these apps built-in, along with third-party diagnostic tools from the App Store and Google Play Store. Apps like Phone Doctor Plus, Phone Diagnostics, Phone Check & Test, and TextX can test BP, oxygen level, heart beat through touch screen, audio, video, camera, microphone, sensors and tools from your phone. Keep in mind that there is still many controversies regarding their result accuracy. Doctors or medical experts never do treatment on the basis of its results.
