A 34-year-old man arrested for allegeadly assaulting a doctor of the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) on Thursday night. The accused has been arrested by the Jorhat police.
Police arrested Hemanta Saikia, a resident of Gharphalia village under Pulibor Police Station, for allegedly assaulting JMCH junior doctor. A case (no 68/2021) has been registered against Saikia in the Jorhat Police Station. The junior doctor on Thursday had filed an FIR against Saikia at the police outpost at JMCH campus.
The case has been registered under Sections 294, 448, 325, 353 of the IPC and relevant sections of the Assam Medicare Service Persons and Medicare Service Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage to Property) Act, 2011.
