New Delhi: Zimbabwe's Vice President, Constantino Guveya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga, arrived in New Delhi on Monday morning to participate in the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave. His presence at this significant event underlines the deepening ties between India and Zimbabwe.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, shared the news on social media platform X, stating, "VP C.G.D.N. Chiwenga of Zimbabwe arrives to a warm welcome in New Delhi for the 19th CII India-Africa Business Conclave." The post further emphasized that Chiwenga's participation reinforces the commitment of both nations to foster a stronger and more collaborative relationship with Africa.

Earlier this month, on August 6, India and Zimbabwe held their third round of Foreign Office Consultations in Harare. During these discussions, the two countries reviewed their bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including development partnerships, trade, economic relations, digital technology, agriculture, health, defense, and cultural exchanges.

The 19th edition of the CII India-Africa Business Conclave is poised to play a crucial role in driving Africa's growth and further integrating the India-Africa partnership into regional and global value chains. India continues to be the fastest-growing large economy, bolstered by favorable demographics, stronger institutional frameworks, and improved governance.

Currently, India ranks as the 5th largest economy, with an estimated GDP of USD 3.7 trillion for the fiscal year 2024, despite challenges posed by the pandemic and previous economic hurdles, according to the Finance Ministry's January 2024 economic review.
