Story: The film covers a story of a lawyer, Jagdish Mishra aka Jolly (Akshay Kumar), whose father was a Munshi to a top-notch lawyer in Lucknow. Following his father’s profession, Jolly also starts his career with the same prominent lawyer as his sidekick in Lucknow. Being into the ambition, Jolly bamboozles a pregnant widow, Hina (Sayani Gupta) on the lookout for justice. Apparently, the pregnant lady commits suicide and thereof Jolly makes it his only mission to get justice for her. He lands the murder case of Hina’s husband, who was killed in a fake encounter. What continues is the crux of the script.
What works in favor of the movie: Kudos to apna Jolly for once again backing a content-driven movie. Akshay is one of the very few actors who have the ability to let his presence in a film be eclipsed by rich content. He is phenomenal. Brilliant on his part. Annu Kapoor portrays his character with flamboyance. Every actor has done his job Fabulously. Checking out Saurabh Shukla, he is a treat to watch and is outstanding. The actress justifies her part and is good. What’s nice though that even when Jolly LLB 2 relaxes its fun side to venture into serious terrain, it retains its spunk and irony.
What doesn’t works in the favour of the movie: Bombay high court took all the part seriously enough and asked to delete some scenes, especially a move that was as unprecedented as it was unexpected. Post interval, the film gets into a slow motion at times. Akshay changes shades like that of a chameleon from crooked to straight.
