The first player to breach the International Cricket Council's (ICC) new rule against the fake fielding is the Queensland fielder Marnus Labuschagne. It happened during a JLT One-Day Cup match between Queensland Bulls and Cricket Australia XI at Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Friday.

Marnus side  Queensland Bulls registered a  four-wicket victory over the Cricket Australia XI. The incident took place when the 23-year-old dived and missed the ball hit by Cricket Australia XI batsman Param Uppal after which Marnus faked a throw which led to Uppal coming back from the run he began.

If this happens then the umpires have the right to award five penalty runs to the team if they determine that such deception is willful. As a result, the five-run penalty was credited to the Cricket Australia XI's score which led to their score 279-7 in the match.

The  Cricket Australia XI failed to mark their second consecutive victory as Queensland defeated them in a match.
