Ingredients
- 1 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tbsp butter
For the Chocolate Ganache
- 200 ml fresh cream
- 200 gms plain chocolate
Method
- Mix all the dry ingredients together (all purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda and baking powder.
- Now, add the wet ingredients (vegetable oil, vanilla essence, eggs and milk).
- Blend all the ingredients together.
- Add 1 cup of hot water and blend again till smooth.
- Grease the cake tins and dust some flour
- Pour the cake mixture into the tins, do not fill it right to the top as the cake will rise.
- bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Insert a toothpick or knife, if it comes out clean then the cake is done.
- For the Ganache, melt the chocolate in the fresh cream on low flame.
- Remove the cake from the tin, flip it over onto a plate.
- Slice the cake horizontally to half, and spread the icing on the bottom slice.
- Place the bottom of the other cake, and spread the icing.
- Now, layer the top portion of the cake and spread the icing once again on top of it.
- Slice and eat just like that or with your best ice-cream flavor.
