On Monday in Beijing, China adopted its new law regarding Cyber Security. According to the Chief of China, it is necessary to counter growing threats of hacking and terrorism. This step draws the attention of overseas critics which include business and human right groups.

They said it threatens to shut foreign technology companies out of various sectors deemed "critical", and includes contentious requirements for security reviews and for data to be stored on servers in China. But according to the Chinese officials, it will not interfere in foreign businesses in any manner. This law is matter of concern because it will lead to control the China’s Internet and technology and also affect the business and trade between China and other countries. US Senator Cory Gardner, a Colorado Republican is extremely troubled with this new law they tell the Reuters.

The measure "could further infringe upon the privacy of its people and potentially have a widespread impact on the international business community," said Gardner, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific and International Cyber security.

Gardner said he voiced concern with Chinese officials about the law during a recent visit to the country and would press the Obama administration to address Beijing's broader actions in cyberspace, "which threaten US economic and national security."

Now we have to see, what step China take next.
