The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 is scheduled to begin from November 17 when the Athletico de Kolkata will take on Kerala Blasters in the opening match at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.
Athletico de Kolkata two-time champions and the clash between ATK and Kerala Blasters FC will bring out the rivalry between Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov from Europe to Indian soil.
In this year the Hero Indian Super League will have 10 teams in action and there is the participation of two new teams i.e Bengaluru FC and Jamshedpur FC. The season will last for four months for the first time.
The season's first doubleheader will see Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa followed by AFC Cup 2016 finalist, Bengaluru FC, getting their first taste of Hero ISL when they take on Mumbai City FC in a home match at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday, 19th November.
FC Pune City and Mumbai City FC will play on November 29, 2017, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium, Pune.
The 10 clubs have collectively spent Rs 132.75 crores in signing 77 international and 166 domestic players.
All the league matches to be played from Wednesday to Saturday will kick off at 8 PM (IST) with Sunday featuring doubleheaders at 5:30 PM and 8 PM (IST).
